Information
The Frontier 7s competition is historically one of the strongest club 7s competitions in the United States, and the originator of the qualifying series format now popularly used in other competitive regions. The 2016 and 2017 Club 7s Men's National Championship finals featured the two Frontier-qualified teams, In 2016,the Rugby Utah Selects won the final over the Kansas City Blues, 48-12. The following year, 2017, Utah repeated in defeating the Denver Barbarians, 22-21. In 2018, a Frontier team again won the National Championship after Bulldog Rugby, playing out of Vail, defeated multi-time champion Belmont Shore, 19-7, in the final.
Overall, the Frontier Region holds USA Rugby national records for the following as of 2018:
-Most top-3 finishes by region in the last 13 years (2006-2018), Men's Division (15); second-place (ACR2) has 9 top-3 finishes
-Most overall appearances by a single club, Men's Division (Denver Barbarians, 24 appearances); second-place (OMBAC) has 19 appearances
-Most matches won by a single club, Men's Division (Denver Barbarians, 85 matches won); second-place (NOVA) has only won 67 matches
-Most Quarter-Finals appearances by a single club, Men's Division (Denver Barbarians, 23 Quarter-Finals appearances); second-place (NOVA) has 16 apps.
-Most Semi-Finals appearances by a single club, Men's Division (Denver Barbarians, 16 Semi-Finals appearances); second-place (Seattle) has 12 apps.
-Most consecutive overall appearances by a single club, Men's Division (Denver Barbarians, 15 consecutive appearances); second-place (OMBAC) has 10 apps.
